Privacy Policy
Last updated 27 Sep 2026
This policy explains what NotchMate (https://notchmate.site) and the NotchMate Mac app collect, what stays on your computer, and how to reach the operator, Bora Can Baltaci, a sole proprietor trading as NotchMate. Last updated 27 September 2026. Contact: boracan449@gmail.com.
Who we are
NotchMate is an independent Mac app sold at https://notchmate.site by Bora Can Baltaci (sole proprietor), trading as NotchMate. There is no user account, no company dashboard, and no advertising network. The operator is reachable only at boracan449@gmail.com.
The Mac app — data that stays on your Mac
NotchMate is a native app. Preferences (name, colour, notch frame, liveliness, language, weather city, Pomodoro times, and similar settings) are stored in macOS UserDefaults on your machine. Clipboard history, the file shelf, and screenshots the app holds stay local. Uninstalling the app removes that data with it. NotchMate does not create an online account for you.
What may leave your Mac
- Weather: the app asks Open-Meteo for a forecast. If you have not picked a city, location is inferred from IP. No API key, no NotchMate login.
- Music: Spotify and Apple Music are controlled on-device through macOS automation. Track metadata is not uploaded to NotchMate servers.
- Zen lyrics: when you open Zen, the app may send the current track’s title, artist, album, and duration to public lyrics services (including lrclib.net and lyrics.ovh) to fetch synced words. Nothing is sent to NotchMate servers. Lyrics are requested only while Zen is open and are discarded when you close it.
- Calendar, camera, accessibility, and screen recording are used only for the matching feature, and only after you grant the permission in macOS. Deny a permission and that feature turns off.
This website
The site at https://notchmate.site is the marketing site and the license backend for the Mac app. It does not require a customer account. The hosting provider may keep standard server logs (IP address, browser, time of request) for security and reliability. We count visits with Vercel Web Analytics, which is cookieless and only reports aggregate numbers (pages viewed, referrer, country, device type) — it does not identify or follow individual visitors. Only if you allow it in the cookie banner, we also load Meta's pixel (Facebook / Instagram) to see which ads bring visitors and which buttons they use (opening checkout, downloading the trial, completing a purchase). It sets cookies and sends those events to Meta. Decline and it is never loaded; change your mind any time with “Cookie settings” at the bottom of the page. Checkout is not processed on this site; it opens Paddle’s checkout.
License activation: the Mac app may send your license key, a hardware identifier, a device name, and the app version to this site so the key can be bound to one Mac. That record stays until you deactivate, the license expires, or a refund is approved.
Cancel / refund form: if you submit a request we store your name, email, license key, plan, and the reason you wrote, so it can be reviewed. Approved refunds revoke the key.
Payments
Purchases (lifetime or monthly) are processed by Paddle, who acts as merchant of record. Paddle collects the payment details needed to charge you, issue invoices, and handle taxes. NotchMate receives enough information to fulfill a license (typically your email and order status), not your full card number. Paddle’s own privacy policy applies to the checkout flow.
Cookies
The marketing site sets tracking cookies only if you allow the Meta pixel in the cookie banner. Paddle’s checkout, once opened, may use cookies that Paddle controls in order to complete the payment.
How long we keep support mail
If you email boracan449@gmail.com, that message lives in the mailbox until the issue is resolved and for a reasonable time after, in case you write again about the same order. You can ask for that thread to be deleted.
Your rights
Depending on where you live (including the EEA, UK, and similar regimes), you may ask what personal data we hold from a purchase or a support email, ask for a copy, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. App data on your Mac is yours to delete by removing the app or clearing its settings. For Paddle-held payment records, we can help you raise the request with Paddle.
Children
NotchMate is not directed at children under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children.
Changes
If this policy changes in a material way, the new version will be posted on this page with an updated date.
